DIFFERENT DATA. FAMILIAR WATERS.

Your databases.
One place to explore.

Relational tables, document collections and object storage.
Choose your connection and get a workspace that fits the data.

PostgreSQL

RELATIONAL DATABASE

A familiar SQL workspace for exploring tables, writing queries and inspecting the results from your PostgreSQL connection.

  • SQL query tabs and table browsing
  • Row inspection and data transfer tools
  • Server dashboard and database-user tools
  • Daily newspaper and report dashboard
SELECT name, city
FROM customers
ORDER BY name;

Available actions depend on your database permissions and the selected source.

MySQL

RELATIONAL DATABASE

Move from a saved connection to a query, table or server overview. Keep your everyday MySQL work in one place.

  • SQL editing, saved queries and results
  • Browse tables and inspect row details
  • Server variables and database-user tools
  • Daily newspaper and report dashboard
SELECT product, quantity
FROM orders
WHERE quantity > 1;

Administrative operations require the relevant permissions on your server.

SQLite

FILE-BASED DATABASE

Choose a database file and start exploring. SQL Ocean builds the SQLite connection string from the file you select.

  • Open .db, .sqlite and .sqlite3 files
  • Browse tables and run SQL queries
  • Inspect records and export rows
  • Daily newspaper and report dashboard
Open SQLite file
  your-project.sqlite
  Tables · Queries · Results

SQLite works with a local database file rather than a remote server connection.

MongoDB

DOCUMENT DATABASE

Work with collections and documents using MongoDB’s own shape of data. Connect with a MongoDB URI and explore JSON-based queries.

  • MongoDB connection URI support
  • Database selection in the URI or connection form
  • Collection queries with filters and limits
  • JSON document and result inspection
{ "collection": "customers",
  "filter": {}, "limit": 100 }

MongoDB uses a JSON query shape, rather than SQL. Relational reporting and administration features do not apply to this connection.

DynamoDB

AWS TABLE & ITEM BROWSER

List tables and inspect items with paginated, read-only scans. Use the AWS credential chain, or configure access keys and an optional session token.

  • Region selection and custom endpoint support
  • Local endpoint configuration for DynamoDB Local
  • Read-only scans requesting up to 50 items per page
  • JSON retains DynamoDB type tags
{ "customer_id": { "S": "customer-1042" },
  "orders": { "N": "12" } }

A table and item browser, not a SQL editor. Scans consume AWS read capacity; permissions and AWS charges apply.

S3-compatible storage

OBJECT STORAGE

A place for the files around your data. Browse buckets, follow folder-like prefixes, and work with stored objects from the same application.

  • Bucket and object browsing
  • Prefix navigation and breadcrumbs
  • Upload, download and object preview
  • Endpoint configuration for S3-compatible providers
media-library
  / exports
    customers.csv
    monthly-summary.json
  / documents
    project-notes.pdf

S3 is object storage, not a SQL database. Actions depend on your endpoint, credentials and storage permissions.

GET YOUR BEARINGS

Start with a connection.

01 / CHOOSE

Pick your provider.

Open the connection manager and choose a database engine, a SQLite file, DynamoDB or S3-compatible storage.

02 / CONNECT

Bring the details.

Enter the connection details for your source. Save a profile so you can return to the same workspace.

03 / EXPLORE

Follow your curiosity.

Open a table, write a query, inspect a document or browse your objects. Each source has its own capabilities.

These are the connection types implemented in the current app. Features differ between providers; listing a provider is not a claim that every database version or operation is supported.
